January 30th –February 3rd, 2012
- Homework for this week: Students will be bringing home a science mission rubric and planning sheet. The project was explained in the last week’s blog. This assignment is due Thursday, February 2nd. Students have been encouraged to create models, design graphs, and add written text to their final project. No other homework (other than their reading log) will be required this week due to the time involved with this project.
- Extra Math work assigned: As you have noticed, fourth grade teachers have given extra math sheets for students to complete at home these past two weeks. As we practice adding, subtracting, ordering and reducing fractions students need additional practice to master these skills. We understand that for students to store these steps into their long term memory, they must continually revisit skills we have already taught in class, such as division. All of this additional math practice is critical to students learning and understanding our required curriculum. As always, we expect all fourth graders to know their multiplication tables.
- No reaction sheet this week due to early release and flex day testing.
- Valentine Party, Friday, February 10th.
- No School Friday, February 17th: teacher in-service day.
- No School Monday, February 20th in honor of President’s Day.
